Commissions

It all begins with an idea. A thought. You’ve seen my artwork and you want a piece that’s specifically suited to your own taste and home decor.

Some tips to help you get started on commissioned artwork.

Size

Arguably the most important part of a commissioned work is to know what size painting you would like. What would go best in your space and your home? Another aspect to consider is if you want one canvas or multiple? (diptych, triptych, or more!)

Still not sure? Contact me to let me know your concerns and we can walk through the process together.

Shape

Not only do canvases come in different sizes, but they also come in different shapes. When envisioning your piece, consider which shape would be best in your space. (square, rectangular, etc.)

Color

Imagine where in your home your piece will be. What other colors are in that space? Do you want to match those colors or blend a color theme together? How much lighting will the painting receive?

Style

Are you inspired by a specific style of my artwork? And if so, which style attracts you the most?

How long does the commission process take?

Commissions take anywhere from 5-8 weeks. It typically takes 1-3 weeks to nail down the size, shape, color scheme and style. The process itself takes about 4-5 weeks which allows the painting time to cure before sealing it with a varnish.

How are commissioned paintings priced?

The price of a commissioned piece will vary based on a number of factors, including size, shape, complexity, etc., all of which will be discussed and agreed upon before I begin working on your painting. A 50% deposit is required upon a finalized design for your commissioned piece. The balance and shipping are due upon completion.

How do I know if I will like what you make?

I always try to work as closely as possible with those who have asked for a commissioned painting, for you to be happy with the end result. It’s a dream of mine to create a piece of art that you wish to display in your own homes and personal spaces.
